Thangassery Beach

Thangasserry Beach is situated in a silent village in the outskirts of Kollam town. The town is home to a once glorious fort, which now lies in ruins. The fort which was built by the Portuguese is a tourist attraction and serves the several archeologists that visit it.The beach, which stands five km from the town, is small but beautiful. The freshwater lagoon renders a perfect postcard picture. There is a rock pier extending into the sea which is the perfect spot for enjoying the cool breeze. Do not miss the sunset.


HOW TO GET THERE
The beach is easily accessible by road .The ride to the village gives you a picture of the coastal culture of Kerala.


OTHER ATTRACTIONS
The Thangessery Lighthouse was built more than 100 years ago. It is open only from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
