Muzhuppilangad Beach

This beach claims to be the only drive-in beach of Kerala. It is only 15km from Kannur. The five-km stretch of sand is great for a drive. The sand in the Muzhuppilangad beach is almost grey, one more feature that makes it stand out from other beaches of Kerala. The coconut groves and the rocky cliffs provide for great cover.Sea swimming is possible here. The beach is at its best during early winter, October-November.

HOW TO GET THERE
It is located to the south of Kannur, and the beach is easily accessible by road. You can approach it just off the Kannur-Thalassery road. Kannur is connected via rail and road to cities in Kerala and south India.

OTHER ATTRACTIONS
Seafood found is very spicy. But that adds to the charm! Enjoy a taste of red hot prawn curry or crab fry from one of the restaurants nearby.
Dharmadam Island is a private resort island that’s very close to the Muzhuppilangad Beach. During a low tide, you can even walk over the beach towards it.
