Kappil Beach
Kappil beach is one of the most secluded beaches in the Malabar. Located in Kasargode district of Kerala, this unspoilt beach is a perfect getaway. It may lack the glamorous sunbathing crowd and all those beach festivities, but it’s rich with silence and serenity. Any soul in search of peace will find this beach extremely lovable, just for its simplicity.
The beach is long and crescent-shaped, overlooked by a Redstone cliff. The cliff provides an exceptional view of the sunset on the Arabian Sea. Adventure-lovers can try a hand at rock climbing at the beach cliff. The scene of the local fishermen coming back after their toil in the sea with the crimson sky as the backdrop is mesmerising. The locals are cordial and they extend their hospitality through many homestays and restaurants in the region. Good food is available here, which is a treat on its own.
HOW TO GET THERE
Kappil Beach is just 12km from Kasargode railway station. The closest airport is the Mangalore airport, 50km from the Kazargode town.
OTHER ATTACTIONS
The Bekal fort and Bekal beach are close to each other. You can stroll down the beach to get a glimpse of life here. Treat yourself to local food. Kasargode food is vibrant and very different from those found in other parts of Kerala.
