Beypore Beach

Beypore is one of the oldest port towns of Malabar. The city had trade links with the Middle East in ancient times. Beypore is renowned for the wooden ships produced from there. They are locally called ‘Uru’ (Dhows in Urdu). These ships built here were used for mercantile purposes even in Middle Eastern and far eastern countries. The Chaliyar River, which is the life line of the city, runs into the Arabian Sea through Beypore.

One of the less explored of the beaches among this area, Beypore offers a great view of the blue expanse of the Arabian Sea. The beauty of the beach can be best enjoyed by taking a walk through the stone pavement along the beach. The beach is sunny for most part of the year, except in the monsoons.
