Alleppey Beach (Alappuzha)
Alappuzha’s intricate canal systems, the never-ending journeys through the still backwaters and evergreen coconut groves and charming beaches makes one feel that one is in Venice. The coconut groves at the shore provide a natural gallery to enjoy nature’s craft. A maze of canals and many fresh water rivers flow into the great ocean. A ride through these on one of the popular houseboats will definitely inspire the poet, deep inside your mind.
The beach is long and sandy, with palm groves on one end. A 140-year-old pier, extending to the sea, awaits you to provide you with one of the most magnificent views you will ever have of the Arabian Sea. The old light house seems to complete the picture postcard view, and is also a great place to get a bird’s eye view of the ships at sail. The Vijaya Park nearby offers entertainment facilities. For most part of the year, the beach remains sunny. If you are someone who loves to experience nature in its true beauty, visit this beach during the monsoons. Believe me its spectacular
